Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively low cost and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you could choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
