Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and staining) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively low cost and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual will have you up and running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance tasks need to be done including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.
robotic hoovers is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. In addition, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another notable feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture with a low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.
Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available however, it comes with numerous additional features that distinguish it from. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing however it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
